Taxonomy

Meekoceras gracilitatis was named by White (1879). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is John Gray's Lake (locality 1), Unit D, which is in a Smithian carbonate limestone in the Thaynes Formation of Idaho.

Meekoceras sylvanum was named by Smith (1932).

It was synonymized subjectively with Meekoceras gracilitatis by Dagis and Ermakova (1990).
Meekoceras radiosus was named by Smith (1932).

It was synonymized subjectively with Meekoceras gracilitatis by Dagis and Ermakova (1990).
Clypeoceras pusillum was named by Shevyrev (1990). Its type specimen is PIN 4184/14 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Alikagar Creek, Khozretishi Range, which is in a Smithian marine horizon in the Alikagarskaya Formation of Tajikistan.

It was synonymized subjectively with Meekoceras gracilitatis by Dagis and Ermakova (1990); it was recombined as Meekoceras pusillum by Spath (1934), Shevyrev (1990) and Rozanov and Shevyrev (2001).
Dagnoceras bridgesi was named by Smith (1932).

It was recombined as Meekoceras bridgesi by Spath (1934); it was synonymized subjectively with Meekoceras gracilitatis by Dagis and Ermakova (1990).
