Platypterygius platydactylus

Taxonomy
Ichthyosaurus platydactylus was named by Broili (1907). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ricklinger Moor, Castendamm, which is in an Aptian marine horizon in Germany. It is the type species of Platypterygius.

It was recombined as Platypterygius platydactylus by Maisch and Matzke (2000), McGowan and Motani (2003), Kolb and Sander (2009), Maisch (2010) and Ji et al. (2016).
