Taxonomy
Waagenoperna was named by Tokuyama (1959) [Sepkoski's age data: P Guad-u Tr Nori Sepkoski's reference number: 94,157,1066]. It is not extant. Its type is Edentula lateplanata.

It was assigned to Pterioida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Isognomonidae by Hayami (1975) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
