Taxonomy
Pecten squamuliferus was named by Morris (1845). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mount Wellington (Strzelecki coll), which is in an Artinskian marine siliciclastic in Australia.
It was recombined as Aviculopecten squamuliferus by Etheridge and Dun (1906), Fletcher (1929) and Sahni and Dutt (1959); it was recombined as Deltopecten squamuliferus by Maxwell (1964) and Wass and Banks (1971); it was recombined as Squamuliferipecten squamuliferus by Waterhouse (1987).
