Taxonomy
Parametacoceras changxingense was named by Zhao et al. (1978). Its type specimen is NIGP 14799 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Baoqing, Changxing County, which is in a Changhsingian carbonate limestone in the Changxing Formation of China.
