Taxonomy
Paraelongatoolithus reticulatus was named by Wang et al. (2010). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is IVPP V16514, an egg, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chengguan 1, Tiantai, which is in a Cenomanian/Turonian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Chichengshan Formation of China.
