Attenborosaurus conybeari
Taxonomy
Plesiosaurus conybeari was named by Sollas (1881). Its type specimen is BRSMG Cb 2479 (destroyed), a skeleton (almost complete skeleton, missing parts of limbs), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Northwest corner of Black Ven Water, which is in a Sinemurian marine horizon in the Charmouth Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Attenborosaurus conybeari by Storrs (1997) and O'Keefe (2001).
