Zhifangia was named by Liu (1980) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Sepkoski's reference number: ZR80]. It is not extant. Its type is Zhifangia typica.
It was assigned to Pachycardiidae by Liu (1980); to Unionoida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Pseudocardiniidae by Fang et al. (2009).
