Taxonomy
Palaeoneilo yanjiensis was named by Guo (1985). Its type specimen is IVy 0158, a valve (Left valve, internal mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Jiuzhai Cliff, Funing County, which is in an Anisian marine horizon in the Baifeng Formation of China.
