Taxonomy
Bakevellia jiuzhaiensis was named by Guo (1985). Its type specimen is IVy 0134, a valve (Right valve, external mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Longjiu, Jiuzhai, Funing County, which is in a Wuchiapingian/Changhsingian marine horizon in China.
