Taxonomy
Claraia stavropolica was named by Gavrilova (1998). Its type specimen is TsNIGR 6/12903, a valve (Right valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Zimnyaya Stavka area, well 75, 3523-3530 m, eastern Stavropol, which is in a Spathian marine horizon in the Dem'yanovskaya Formation of the Russian Federation.
