Taxonomy
Litargosuchus leptorhynchus was named by Clark and Sues (2002). Its type specimen is BP/1/5237, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Eagles Crag, which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian terrestrial sandstone in the Elliot Formation of South Africa.
