Ophioglypha pulchra was named by Valette (1914). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ophiuroidea, Upper Turonian, Armeau, Yonne, France, which is in a Turonian offshore ramp wackestone in the Craie de Sens Formation of France.
It was recombined as Ophiolepis pulchra by Storc and Zitt (2008).
