Taxonomy
Procladiscites elegans was named by Shevyrev (1995). Its type specimen is PIN 1477/558 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tkhach River, middle branch near bridge, Phyllocladiscites-Nicomedites beds, which is in a Bithynian marine carbonate in the Acheshbok Formation of the Russian Federation.
