Taxonomy
Paracybantyx occidentalis was named by Adrain et al. (1995). Its type specimen is USNM 476706 (cranidium) and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Taylor Mountains, which is in a Llandovery marine limestone in Alaska.
