Trionyx leucopotamicus

Taxonomy
Trionyx leucopotamicus was named by Cope (1891). Its type specimen is NMC 6232, an osteoderm (fragment of costal plate), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Conglomerate Creek, which is in a Chadronian terrestrial horizon in the Cypress HIlls Formation of Canada.

It was recombined as Platypeltis leucopotamica by Hay (1908) and Hay (1930); it was recombined as Apalone leucopotamica by Hutchison (1996).
