Taxonomy
Mictocystoides breviseptatum was named by Flügel (1990). Its type specimen is 64 TH T14/1 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chah Shirin, east of Semnan, which is in a Wordian marine limestone in Iran. It is the type species of Mictocystoides.
