Taxonomy
Undorosaurus was named by Efimov (1999).

It was synonymized subjectively with Ophthalmosaurus by Maisch and Matzke (2000).

It was assigned to Undorosauridae by Efimov (1999); to Ichthyosauridae by Storrs et al. (2000); to Ophthalmosaurinae by Arkhangelsky and Zverkov (2014); and to Ophthalmosauridae by Maisch (2010) and Robert et al. (2014).
