Platypterygius bedengensis

Taxonomy
Plutoniosaurus bedengensis was named by Efimov (1997). Its type specimen is UPM No. 2/740, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Right Volga bank, 12 km north of Ulyanovsk, which is in a Hauterivian marine horizon in the Russian Federation.

It was considered a nomen dubium by McGowan and Motani (2003); it was recombined as Platypterygius bedengensis by Storrs et al. (2000), Maisch and Matzke (2000) and Maisch (2010).
