Fissobractites subsymmetrica was named by Kristan-Tollmann (1963). It is considered to be a form taxon. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Fischerwiese, Steinplatte, which is in a Rhaetian perireef or subreef marl/limestone in the Zlambach Formation of Austria. It is the type species of Fissobractites.
