Taxonomy
Septaliphoria rhomba was named by Yang and Yin (1962).

It was recombined as Costirhynchia rhomba by Jin et al. (1979); it was recombined as Costirhynchopsis rhomba by Sun and Ye (1982), Xu and Liu (1983) and Guo and Chen (2022).
