Taxonomy
Septaliphoria tienchungensis was named by Yang and Yin (1962).

It was recombined as Costirhynchia tienchungensis by Jin et al. (1979); it was recombined as Costirhynchopsis tienchungensis by Sun and Ye (1982), Xu and Liu (1983) and Guo and Chen (2022).
