Taxonomy
Bienotherium yunnanense was named by Young (1940). Its type specimen is IVPP VI, a skull, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tachung, Lufeng, which is in a Hettangian terrestrial mudstone in the Lufeng Formation of China.
