Simpsonodon oxfordensis
Taxonomy
Simpsonodon oxfordensis was named by Kermack et al. (1987). Its type specimen is J.100, a mandible (Fragment of right ramus of lower jaw with three postcanine teeth), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kirtlington 3p (Mammal Bed), which is in a Bathonian mire/swamp marl in the Forest Marble Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was synonymized subjectively with Cyrtlatherium canei by Averianov (2004).
