Taxonomy
Kolymia kasanenkoi was named by Astaf'yeva and Kusnezov (1988). Its type specimen is KGU 551/115, a valve (Right valve), and it is a cast. Its type locality is Krestyakh River, Sartang Basin, Western Verkhoyan, which is in a Wordian marine siliciclastic in the Delendzha Formation of the Russian Federation.
