Taxonomy
Gibbirhynchia cantabrica was named by García Joral and Goy (2009). It is not extant. Its type locality is West Rodiles - Lastres, Bed No. 5 (Lastres), which is in a Spinatum deep subtidal marl in the Rodiles Formation of Spain.
