Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
E. Jimenez-Hidalgo and O. Carranza-Castaneda 2010Considerably smaller than Hemiauchenia blancoensis,‘‘Hemiauchenia’ ’minima (Leidy) 1886 and Pleiolama vera; lacks p1 and p3; postcranial elements more slender than those of H. macrocephala and longer and usually more robust than those of Hemiauchenia edensis (Frick) 1921 (Meachen,2005). Shares homologous character states with Hemiachenia macrocephala and Hemiauchenia edensis, such as gracile molars, slender postcranial elements, and small size.
