Bellerophon (Bellerophon) crassoides was named by Reed (1925) [Includes Bellerophon squamatus sensu Grabau 1931 p. 342 pl. 33 f. 3-4 according to Batten (1972).]. It is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Bellerophon crassoides by Batten (1972).
