Taxonomy
Strobeus elegans was named by Gemmellaro (1887). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pietra di Salomone, calcare compatto, Sosio, which is in a Wordian carbonate limestone in Italy.
It was recombined as Soleniscus elegans by Gemmellaro (1889), Delpey (1942), Batten (1985) and Mazaev (2019).
