Batrachotomus kupferzellensis
Taxonomy
Batrachotomus kupferzellensis was named by Gower (1999) [Referred to in older literature as the "Kupferzell rauisuchian"]. Its type specimen is SMNS 52970, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kupferzell bonebed, which is in a Longobardian estuary/bay marl/dolomite in the Erfurt Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Batrachotomus.
