Taxonomy
Cavilucina was named by Fischer (1887) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo-l T Eo-m-u Sepkoski's reference number: 914]. It is not extant. Its type is Lucina sulcata.

It was reranked as Phacoides (Cavilucina) by Dall (1901) and Cossmann (1906); it was reranked as Miltha (Cavilucina) by Cossmann and Pissarro (1904) and Glibert (1933).

It was assigned to Phacoides by Dall (1901) and Cossmann (1906); to Miltha by Cossmann and Pissarro (1904) and Glibert (1933); to Lucininae by Vokes (1980); to Lucinidae by Cox et al. (1969) and Wienrich (1999); and to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002).
