Taxonomy
Cheirurus perforator was named by Billings (1865). Its type specimen is GSC 684, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Nieszkowskia perforator by Raymond (1925); it was recombined as Xystocrania perforator by Whittington (1965) and Ross (1970).
