Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
F. D. Jackson and D. J. Varricchio 2010Although no unambiguous autapomorphies can be recognized, the oospecies can be differentiated from Spheroolithus albertensis and other Spheroolithus ootaxa by the following unique combination of characters: shell thickness from 660 to 940 μm; relatively smooth to ramotuberculate surface consisting of nodes and undulating ridges, some coalescing; pore opening singular, circular, some slit-like; irregular boundary between radiating spherulites and overlying region of tabular structure, with spherulic/tabular region ratio of approximately 1:3.
