Taxonomy
Aphanaia dilatata was named by Biakov (1992). Its type specimen is SVPGO 9/1062, a valve (Left valve), and it is a cast. Its type locality is Levyy Vodopadnyy Creek, Mongolosia russiensis Zone, Omolon Massif, which is in a Roadian marine siliciclastic in the Omolon Formation of the Russian Federation.
