Taxonomy
Amphion barrandei was named by Billings (1865). Its type specimen is GSC 681b, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a mold.

It was recombined as Pliomerops barrandei by Raymond (1910), Raymond (1925) and Phleger (1933); it was recombined as Pseudomera barrandei by Holliday (1942) and Ross (1970).
