Taxonomy
Metapronorites angustus was named by Andrianov (1985) [Specimen number may be 55/561 (number given in plate caption).]. Its type specimen is YaF CO AN 55/612 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Chekurovskiy Cape, south of Chekurovka Village, Bed 15, Sample 23f, Lena River, which is in a Sakmarian marine siliciclastic in the Tuorasis Formation of the Russian Federation.
