Taxonomy
Holia anacantha was named by Ludvigsen (1979) [Paratypes: GSC 44281-44286]. Its type specimen is GSC 44280, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Whittaker Formation, Whittaker & Funeral Ranges, District of Mackenzie, which is in a Rocklandian/Kirkfieldian deep subtidal limestone in the Whittaker Formation of Canada.
