Belyaevaspongia insolita
Taxonomy
Polysiphonella insolita was named by Belyaeva (1991). Its type specimen is DVGI 8-B coll 174-a, slide 184a-II-I and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Nakhodka Quarry, Collection 174, Primorye, which is in a Changhsingian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Lyudyanza Formation of the Russian Federation. It is the type species of Belyaevaspongia.
It was recombined as Belyaevaspongia insolita by Senowbari-Daryan and Ingavat-Helmcke (1994).
