Taxonomy
Distichophyllia melnikovae was named by Montanaro-Gallitelli et al. (1979). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wrangell Mountains, Green Butte, USGS M1708, which is in a Lacian shallow subtidal limestone in the Chitistone Formation of Alaska.
