Thaleops longispina

Taxonomy
Thaleops longispina was named by Shaw (1968) [Includes specimens identified as Thaleops ovata Conrad, and Thaleops arctura (Hall) by Raymond (1902), Raymond (1905), Raymond and Narraway (1908), and Raymond (1910), but NOT type specimens of these species.]. Its type specimen is Cornell Univ Mus no. 34045, an exoskeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is (CP) Crown Point, which is in a Whiterockian carbonate limestone/dolomite in the Crown Point Formation of New York.
