Taxonomy
Crassatellopsis was named by Beushausen (1895) [Sepkoski's age data: D l Sepkoski's reference number: ZR79]. It is not extant. It is the type genus of Crassatellopsidae.

It was assigned to Eriphylinae by Vokes (1980); to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Crassatellopsidae by Carter (2011).
