Taxonomy
Cybelurus occidentalis was named by Dean (1973) [Paratypes: GSC 29342-45, 31605.]. Its type specimen is GSC 29340, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a mold. Its type locality is GSC loc. 54076. District of Mackenzie, Keele Range, which is in a Llanvirn carbonate limestone in the Esbataottine Formation of Canada.
