Taxonomy
Dunedinites pinguis was named by Tozer (1963). Its type specimen is GSC 14287 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 42372, Dunedin River, which is in a Dienerian marine siliciclastic in the Grayling Formation of Canada. It is the type species of Dunedinites.
