Taxonomy
Anaxenaspis welteri was named by Tozer (1994). Its type specimen is GSC 28142 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC 47558, Griesbach Creek, Axel Heiberg Island, which is in a Smithian marine siliciclastic in the Blind Fiord Formation of Canada.
