Taxonomy
Tyloplecta insulcata was named by Tong (1978). Its type specimen is Sb 4059 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gaoqiao Section, Maokou Fm, Mianzhu County, which is in a Wordian carbonate limestone in the Maokou Formation of China.
