Taxonomy
Monticulifera filosa was named by Jin and Ye (1979). Its type specimen is NIGP 42646 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Yematan Section 58-6A-29, Delingha City, which is in a Wordian marine horizon in the Bayinhe Formation of China.
