Condorchelys was named by Sterli (2008). It is not extant. Its type is Condorchelys antiqua.
It was assigned to Testudinata by Pérez-García and Murelaga (2013); to Testudinata by Sterli (2008), Sterli and de la Fuente (2010), Anquetin (2012), Perea et al. (2014) and de la Fuente et al. (2014); and to Mesochelydia by Joyce (2017) and Sterli et al. (2019).
