Taxonomy
Divaricella was named by Martens (1880) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than-l R Sepkoski's reference number: 914]. It is extant. Its type is Divaricella angulifera.
It was assigned to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); to Lucinidae by Glenn (1904), da Silva Forti (1969), Beu et al. (1990), Lamprell and Whitehead (1992) and von Cosel (2006); and to Divaricellinae by Cox et al. (1969), Vokes (1980), Woodring (1982), Dockery (1982), Moore (1988) and Bouchet et al. (2010).
