Taxonomy
Bellefontia acuminiferentis was named by Ross (1951) [Questionably assigned to this genus by author. Paratypes: YPM 18320, 18348, 18157, 18163, 18338-9, 18370]. Its type specimen is YPM 18347, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Xenostegium acuminiferentis by Hintze (1953).
