It was reranked as the family Diplopteridae by Lin (1997) and Vršanský et al. (2016).

It was assigned to Blattodea by Lin (1997) and Vršanský et al. (2016); and to Blaberidae by Archibald and Mathewes (2000), Li and Wang (2015), Evangelista et al. (2017), Evangelista et al. (2021) and Liu et al. (2023).
